Letter from the President
This is a busy time for the IFME. I was recently in Decatur for Illinois DECA’s State Career Development Conference where we awarded $1,000 scholarships to six outstanding young men and women. The IFME also provided $100 for each first place winner in the competitions for a total of $4,700! Last, but not least, we unveiled a new program to provide grants to kids who need financial assistance in order to compete at the International Career Development Conference. Six deserving DECA members benefited from this new program and will represent Illinois DECA in Salt Lake City this April.
It already feels bit like spring around Chicago. I may be able to hit the golf course and get some practice in before the IFME Golf Outing on June 26th. If not, I won’t worry about my game—it’s more about celebrating the summer with DECA advisors and the supporters of marketing education in Illinois. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of friends out at Fox Run Golf Links in Elk Grove.
